Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan al-Saud is to marry his bride in the southern Persian Gulf state of Bahrain.
According to a statement on Friday, the Saudi prince, 81, will marry his 25-year-old wife, Sajad, on January 26.
Sajad is a former Saudi journalist who has been married to the prince since 2006.
Saudi Arabia has been trying to woo Bahrain since the beginning of the Arab Spring in 2011.
The kingdom has a long history of military and political ties with Bahrain, which was a Saudi ally until it was deposed by Bahraini forces in 1971.
In 2012, Bahrain was designated a terrorist state, and Riyadh accused the Gulf state’s leaders of supporting terrorism.
In June, Bahrain’s parliament approved a decree declaring Sajdah as a national hero.
