The bride and her family are planning a surprise wedding for the groom, a senior law enforcement officer, according to court documents filed Monday.
In a lawsuit filed Monday in federal court in New Orleans, attorney Brian Stemmons claims that the groom is the victim of a “criminal conspiracy” by a former law enforcement official who is now working as a private investigator.
“The victim of the conspiracy is Mr. Joseph Sasse,” Stemons wrote in the lawsuit.
The suit alleges that Sasse, a former Louisiana State Police captain and member of the Louisiana National Guard, met with a person who told him that a woman named Amanda “was being sought by Mr. Sasse in an attempt to blackmail Mr. Trump.”
Sasse allegedly met with the woman in a hotel room in March.
The suit alleges she and Sasse met with Sasse at the New Orleans Marriott and she “obtained a photograph of Mr. Donald Trump with Ms. Trump and Mr. Pence, who were to appear on his television show, ‘The Apprentice,’ to promote the appearance of Mr Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, who was the daughter of his current wife, Melania.
Sasse reportedly then met with Trump’s niece Ivanka at a private reception at the Trump International Hotel in New York in July and invited her to attend.
In August, a separate suit was filed by Stemms and another plaintiff who alleged that the former law officer was the target of a sexual harassment complaint against him in October 2016.
That lawsuit claims Sasse “engaged in unwanted sexual contact with a female subordinate, a male subordinate, and an adult male subordinate.”
The suit filed Monday alleges that the allegations are based on an investigation by the Louisiana State Crime Lab and the FBI’s Special Victims Unit.
