When you are a single mom, you probably never think about your children.
But with the advent of the Internet and social media, your life could soon change.
In this article, we take a look at what your kids might learn if they are born to someone who is not your best friend.
If your son is a stranger, how would you feel if you were in a same-sex marriage?
“If my son is gay, I have a hard time believing he’s going to grow up to be a decent human being,” said Melissa C. Scott, a gay woman in rural Virginia.
“I’m not going to give him the opportunity.”
The story is similar for two gay men in New Jersey, both of whom have been in relationships with a partner for years, but the relationship has not always worked out.
It’s not uncommon for gay men to be the first to discover their sexual orientation, and many think it’s only a matter of time before they start to date.
“For most gay people, I would have been completely happy with being with a straight couple,” said David M. Marder, an ordained minister in New York City.
“But now I’m not.
It’s very scary for me to be able to share my sexuality with someone else.”
If your daughter is a gay teen, what do you tell her?
“I think she’s ready to accept it,” said Scott.
“We all want our children to be happy and healthy.
I think she wants to know she is loved and accepted.”
If you’re gay and you have a partner, do you ever think about telling your kids?
If your partner is a close friend or someone who loves you, would you ever tell them?
“I think the majority of people who are openly gay would tell their children about the relationship,” said Mike J. Anderson, director of the Gay and Lesbian Center at St. John’s University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
What if your partner does not live with you? “
The children will see what a good friend they are and what they are capable of.”
What if your partner does not live with you?
If someone you are in a relationship with does not support your relationship or lives in another state, is it okay to tell your child about it?
When a person of the opposite gender comes out to you, is there anything you can do?
Some people say that it’s important to keep quiet about their sexual identity.
But many say they would never do it if their partner did not support them or the relationship was not working.
“Some people who have been with a same sex couple for a long time and have lived in the same house for a very long time are more open to the idea of their partner being gay,” said Robert A. Karpinski, director and president of the American Association of Family Physicians.
“They are just more accepting.”
Are there any laws or laws that prohibit telling your child that you are gay?
Most states do not have laws that ban telling your children about their orientation, but some do.
When it comes to gay dating, it can be very challenging.
If there is a law that bans your child from dating someone of another gender, is that a good idea?
In New York, it would be a good thing if your child could tell you that they are gay.
If they could, they could start dating someone else, even if that person is not their best friend or partner.
Many states do have laws prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation.
Are your child’s teachers or parents homophobic?
You could talk to your child or parent and ask them about it.
But be sure to also take into account that your child is not alone in their struggles.
“Some kids have had to fight for things like school uniforms, or a dress code, or the right to wear clothes that match who they are,” said Karpinksis.
“It’s up to your parents and the school to support your child in those kinds of things.
Do you think your child will be able or willing to tell you about their sexuality?
It depends on how their teacher or parent views your child.
Will they accept your child for who they truly are?
A lot of parents believe that your children will accept you for who you are.
But some may be reluctant to accept your son or daughter for who he or she might be.
Asking your children questions about their gender identity, sexuality, and relationships can help you to understand them better.
